The Action Research on Community Health Equity and Stigma (ARCHES) lab is a public health research team at San Diego State University; founded by Dr. Jerel Calzo in 2017 at the Institute for Behavioral and Community Health through the San Diego State University Research Foundation.
The ARCHES Lab focuses on advancing health equity and social justice for underserved communities in San Diego County through community-informed and community-engaged approaches to research, advocacy, and action. The ARCHES Lab is also a training space for students who are interested in developing and strengthening their skills in community-based and action-based research, implementation science, and public health practice.
